I keep blowing coolant hoses on my grand am. Too much pressure? Do i need a radiator flush?

I have a 2002 grand amm GT, There was a hose that blew, I clamped it and it hasnt blown since. But there was another hose behind the engine leading to the Radiator. Is there too much pressure flowing through it and it just pops off? Do i need to do a radiator flush? I am also going to replace the thermostat. Will that help any?
